4xx Client error

HTTP 422 Unprocessable Content

The server understands the content type and the syntax is correct, but it can’t process the instructions in it. APIs use it for validation errors, such as a missing required field or an invalid email address. It was called “Unprocessable Entity” in WebDAV.

Defined in RFC 9110, section 15.5.21(opens in a new tab)

Is 422 up or down for a monitor?

Uptimecheck HTTP monitor

Default settings

Down

Down. It is outside the default 200–399 range, so a monitor reports an outage once a second check confirms it. If 422 is the answer you expect from that URL, add it to the monitor’s expected status codes.
