When it is time to look beyond UptimeRobot
UptimeRobot is a common first choice for uptime monitoring, and many teams start on its free tier. As a site or a client list grows, the questions change: does checkout still work, are cron jobs running, is a disk filling up, did someone change a DNS record, and who is reading the status page during an outage?
Uptimecheck answers those questions in the same account as your uptime checks.
What you get with Uptimecheck
- Website and API checks with your own method, headers and body, keyword and JSON checks, and response times split into DNS, connect, TLS, server and download
- Checks every minute on every plan from Stockholm, Sweden, with every failure confirmed by a second check before an incident opens
- Multi-step flows for logins, forms and checkouts, optionally in a real browser
- Cron job monitors with crontab schedules, start and finish pings, exit codes and output
- SSL certificate and domain expiry reminders, and SPF, DKIM and DMARC checks
- DNS monitoring for A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, NS, SOA, TXT and CAA records, with change history
- Server monitoring on Linux, macOS and Windows
- Page speed with Google Lighthouse, and a daily scan for broken links
- Status pages with subscribers, status updates and visitor statistics without cookies
- Alerts by email, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Discord, Google Chat, Mattermost, Telegram, PagerDuty, ntfy, Pushover, webhooks and push notifications on your phone
Who Uptimecheck suits
Uptimecheck is built for agencies that look after many client sites and online shops where every minute offline costs sales, and it suits SaaS teams that need a public status page. Projects keep client sites apart, client dashboards and client reports show each client their own uptime, and weekly and monthly email reports give you something to forward without extra work.
Switching from UptimeRobot
Open Monitors › Import, choose UptimeRobot and paste a read-only API key (in UptimeRobot: Integrations & API › API). You see every monitor before anything is created. Website, keyword, ping, port and heartbeat monitors come over with their intervals (rounded to ours), keywords, ports and paused state. Anything that cannot be imported is listed with the reason.
Heartbeat monitors get a new ping URL: put it in the job, then remove the old one. The key is used for that one request and never stored, and nothing changes at UptimeRobot. Keep both running for a week, compare the alerts on the same incidents, then cancel what you no longer need.
A fair comparison
Features and prices on both sides change. We reviewed this page on October 16, 2026. Before you decide, check UptimeRobot’s current plans and compare them with our feature comparison. The easiest test is to run both on the same sites during the 14-day trial, or to look around the live demo first.
