Why teams switch

Bring your tests along

Paste a StatusCake API key and review every uptime test and heartbeat before anything is created, with status codes, texts to find and headers.

Fewer false alarms

Checks run as often as every minute from Stockholm, London and New York, and every failure is confirmed from a second location. Each incident comes with the failing response and a screenshot or the network path.

More than uptime

Multi-step flows, page speed with Google Lighthouse, SPF, DKIM and DMARC, cron jobs, servers and 31 third-party services next to your uptime tests.

Built for agencies and shops

Projects per client, client dashboards and monthly client reports, and alerts in Slack, Teams, on your phone and more. From €9 per month billed yearly or €12 billed monthly, excl. VAT.

Why teams look for a StatusCake alternative

StatusCake is a familiar name in website monitoring. Teams that look for an alternative usually want more of their stack in the same place: checkout and login flows, page speed, cron jobs, servers, the services they depend on, and a status page their customers can follow.

Uptimecheck puts those in one account, at a fixed price per plan in euros. The app and its database are hosted in Stockholm, Sweden, and backups are kept in Stockholm and in the EU.

What Uptimecheck covers

  • Website and API checks with your own method, headers and body, keyword and JSON checks, and slow-response alerts
  • Checks every minute on paid plans from Stockholm, London and New York, with every failure confirmed from a second location before an incident opens
  • Incidents with evidence: the failing response and a screenshot or the network path
  • Multi-step flows for logins, forms and checkouts, optionally in a real browser
  • Page speed with Google Lighthouse, and a daily scan for broken links and mixed content
  • Cron job monitors with crontab schedules, start and finish pings, exit codes and output
  • SSL certificate and domain expiry reminders, with SPF, DKIM and DMARC checks
  • DNS monitoring with change history, and server monitoring on Linux, macOS and Windows
  • Third-party monitoring for 31 services such as Klarna, Shopify and Cloudflare
  • Status pages with subscribers, status updates and visitor statistics without cookies

Who Uptimecheck suits

Uptimecheck is built for agencies that look after many client sites and online shops where every minute offline costs sales. Projects keep clients apart, client dashboards and client reports show each client their own uptime, and status pages answer customers during an outage.

Switching from StatusCake

Create an API key in StatusCake under My Account › Manage API Keys. In Uptimecheck, open Monitors › Import, choose StatusCake and paste the key. You see every uptime test and heartbeat before anything is created: HTTP, ping, port and DNS tests come over with their check rates (rounded to our intervals), status codes, texts to find and headers. Anything that cannot be imported is listed with the reason.

Heartbeats become cron job monitors with a new ping URL: put it in the job, then remove the old one. The key is used for that one request and never stored, and nothing changes at StatusCake. Connect your alert channels, run both for a week, compare the alerts and switch when you are confident.

A fair comparison

Features and prices on both sides change. We reviewed this page on October 16, 2026. Before you decide, check StatusCake’s current plans and compare them with our feature comparison. The easiest test is to run both on the same sites during the 14-day trial, or to look around the live demo first.

Common questions

Can I import my StatusCake tests?

Yes. Uptime tests (HTTP, ping, port and DNS) come over with their check rates, status codes, texts to find and headers, and heartbeats with their period. The API key is used for that one request and never stored.

What happens to my StatusCake heartbeats?

They become cron job monitors with a new ping URL. Put the new URL in each job, then remove the old one.

Where are checks run from?

From Stockholm, London and New York. Every failure is confirmed from a second location before an incident opens, so one blip does not trigger an alert.

Does Uptimecheck have a free plan?

Yes. Every account starts with a 14-day free trial of Professional, without a credit card, and then stays on the Free plan unless you choose another: 5 monitors checked every 5 minutes, 1 status page and up to 3 alert channels, such as email, Slack or Microsoft Teams (SMS needs a paid plan). Commercial use is allowed. The live demo needs no account at all.

How do the two compare on price?

Pricing models differ and change over time. Check StatusCake’s current plans and compare them with the Uptimecheck pricing page.

Downtime is obsolete.

Set up your first monitor in under a minute, or look around the live demo first.
