Why teams look for a Pingdom alternative

Pingdom has monitored websites for many years. Teams that look for an alternative usually want the rest of their stack in the same place: checkout flows, cron jobs, DNS records, servers and a status page their customers can check.

That is the gap Uptimecheck fills. Every plan includes status pages with visitor statistics, SSL and domain monitoring and email reports, and the price stays fixed as your team grows.

What Uptimecheck covers

  • Website uptime and API checks with your own method, headers and body, keyword and JSON checks, and slow-response alerts
  • Checks every minute on paid plans from Stockholm, London and New York, with every failure confirmed from a second location
  • Incidents with evidence: the failing response and a screenshot or the network path
  • Multi-step flows for logins and checkouts, optionally in a real browser
  • Page speed with Google Lighthouse and Core Web Vitals, every day
  • Cron job monitors that alert you when a scheduled job does not run
  • SSL certificate and domain expiry reminders, with SPF, DKIM and DMARC checks
  • DNS monitoring with change history
  • Server monitoring: CPU, memory, disk and network on Linux, macOS and Windows
  • Status pages with subscribers and visitor statistics, and a REST API and MCP server on Professional and Business

Who Uptimecheck suits

Uptimecheck is built for teams that want one account for everything a website depends on: agencies with many client sites, online stores, SaaS products and developers who look after servers and scheduled jobs. Projects keep work separate, and reports export to CSV and go out by email every week or month.

Switching from Pingdom

Create an API token in Pingdom (Integrations › The Pingdom API, with Read access). In Uptimecheck, open Monitors › Import, choose Pingdom and paste the token. You see every check before anything is created: HTTP, keyword, ping, port and DNS checks come over with their intervals, paths, headers and texts to look for. Anything that cannot be imported is listed with the reason.

Nothing changes at Pingdom, and the token is never stored. Connect the alert channels your team already uses, publish a status page, run both services for a week and switch when you are confident.

Common questions

Does Uptimecheck have a free plan?

Yes. Every account starts with a 14-day free trial of Professional, without a credit card, and then stays on the Free plan unless you choose another: 5 monitors checked every 5 minutes, 1 status page and up to 3 alert channels, such as email, Slack or Microsoft Teams (SMS needs a paid plan). Commercial use is allowed. Paid plans start at €9 per month billed yearly or €12 billed monthly, excl. VAT.

Can it monitor a checkout or login, like a transaction check?

Yes. A flow monitor runs up to 10 steps in order, such as opening a page, logging in, submitting a form or calling an API, carries values such as a token from one step to the next, and can run in a real browser for JavaScript and clicks.

Does Uptimecheck do real user monitoring?

Not with a script on your site. Uptimecheck checks from the outside: websites, APIs, flows, ports, DNS, domains, cron jobs and servers. Page speed monitoring adds Google Lighthouse scores and, where Google has enough data, the Core Web Vitals that real Chrome users experienced.

Where are checks run from?

From Stockholm, London and New York. Every failure is confirmed from a second location before an incident opens, so one blip does not trigger an alert.

Can I import my Pingdom checks?

Yes. Uptime checks (HTTP, keyword, ping, port and DNS) come over with their intervals, paths, headers and texts to look for. You review them first, and the token is used for that one request and never stored.

How do the two compare on price?

Pricing models differ and change over time. Check Pingdom’s current plans and compare them with the Uptimecheck pricing page.
