Statuspage alternative: A Statuspage alternative that updates itself.

Atlassian Statuspage is a well-known hosted status page service. Uptimecheck status pages are updated by real checks: each component is a monitor, so its status follows the check. The importer brings over your components, incident history, upcoming maintenance and confirmed subscribers.

Why teams switch

Status from real checks

Each component is a monitor checked as often as every minute from Stockholm, London and New York. When a second check confirms an outage, the component changes, even before anyone writes an update, and no update can show it as milder.

Monitoring and status in one place

Website, API, flow, cron, server and third-party monitors, alerts and on-call schedules live in the same account as the status page.

Everything visitors expect

Status updates with templates, subscribers by email, Slack, Teams, Discord or webhook, maintenance notices, 9 languages and incident reviews.

A fixed price in euros

Status pages are included on every plan, from €9 per month billed yearly or €12 billed monthly, excl. VAT: 10 on Start, 25 on Professional and 250 on Business.

A status page that follows your checks

Atlassian Statuspage is a common choice for hosted status pages. Teams that look for an alternative often want the page and the monitoring in one place, so that what customers see follows what the checks find.

In Uptimecheck, each component on a status page is a monitor with a friendly public name. When a check fails and a second check confirms it, the component changes on its own. You add status updates in your own words as you work, and mark each affected component as Degraded performance, Partial outage or Major outage. The page shows the worse of your impact and what the checks find, so an update can raise a component’s status but never hide an outage the checks confirmed.

What Uptimecheck status pages include

  • Components from real checks, in groups, with 90 days of history and uptime
  • Status updates (investigating, identified, monitoring, resolved or notice) per component, with templates, and an impact for each affected component: degraded performance, partial outage or major outage
  • Subscribers by email (double opt-in), Slack, Microsoft Teams, Discord or webhook, for the whole page or chosen components
  • Maintenance shown in advance and emailed to subscribers, with reminders
  • Incident reviews shown under past incidents
  • 9 languages, with times in UTC so everyone reads the same clock
  • Your logo, accent color and theme, removable Uptimecheck branding, and custom CSS on Professional and Business
  • Password protection and hiding from search engines
  • A status widget, an SVG badge, a JSON summary and an Atom feed
  • Visitor statistics by country, referrer and device, counted without cookies and without storing IP addresses

The JSON summary uses Statuspage’s summary format and also answers at /api/v2/summary.json under the page’s address, so tools that read a Statuspage summary can read yours. Components carry Statuspage’s statuses, from operational and degraded performance to partial and major outage or under maintenance, and open incidents its impact levels: minor, major or critical.

Who Uptimecheck suits

Uptimecheck suits SaaS teams that want one tool for monitoring, alerts and the public page, agencies that run a status page per client, and online shops that want to show customers when a payment provider, not the shop, is the problem. Third-party monitors for 31 services, such as Klarna, Shopify and Cloudflare, can show their incidents on your page.

Switching from Statuspage

First, add the monitors behind your components, or import them from UptimeRobot, Better Stack, Pingdom or StatusCake. Then open Status pages › Import and paste your Statuspage API key (your avatar › API info). Pick the page and see everything before it is created.

Components are matched to your monitors by name; change or leave out any of them. Choose what comes along: incident history with every update and postmortem, upcoming maintenance (checks pause during it, as with any maintenance), and confirmed email subscribers, who keep following the same components. SMS, webhook, Slack and Teams subscribers need to subscribe again.

Nothing is sent while importing, the key is only used to read the page and is never stored, and nothing changes on Statuspage. Link to the new page from your app and help center when you are ready.

Common questions

What comes over from Statuspage?

Components, incident history with every update and postmortem, upcoming maintenance and confirmed email subscribers. Each component is matched to one of your monitors, so its status comes from real checks.

Do my subscribers need to sign up again?

Confirmed email subscribers come along and keep following the same components. SMS, webhook, Slack and Teams subscribers need to subscribe again.

Can I use my own domain, such as status.example.com?

No. Status pages live on app.uptimecheck.com. On Professional and Business you choose the address, such as app.uptimecheck.com/s/yourcompany.

Can I mark a component as degraded or partly down?

Yes. In a status update, give each affected component Degraded performance, Partial outage or Major outage. The page and its JSON summary show the worse of that and what the checks find.

Is my Statuspage API key stored?

No. The key is only used to read the page during the import and is never stored.

How do the two compare on price?

Pricing models differ and change over time. Check Statuspage’s current plans and compare them with the Uptimecheck pricing page.
