Agencies do good monitoring work that clients never see. The site was up 99.97 percent of the month, two incidents were fixed before anyone noticed, and the SSL certificate renewed on time. Unless you tell the client, all they remember is the one outage they did see. Reports turn that quiet work into something the client can read.
Projects per client
Start with one project per client. Projects group monitors and status pages, lists can be filtered by project, and the project’s colour marks its monitors everywhere. Dashboards and reports both work per project.
Client dashboards
Invite someone at the client by email, from the Clients column on Projects. They sign in with a link in the email, with no password to choose, and see a dashboard in your name. Client dashboards are included on Professional and Business.
- What they see: the project’s services and their status now, 90 days of uptime, response times, incidents and the monthly report.
- What they never see: other projects, settings, alert channels, team notes or addresses such as cron job URLs.
- Access you control: remove someone and their access ends at once. One person can have dashboards from several projects or agencies.
Client reports by link and email
For clients who do not want another login, share a client report: a private link to a live uptime report for one project, no account needed. It shows uptime month by month, the SLA, every incident and the client’s logo, and it stops working the moment you revoke it.
Add up to 5 addresses, and last month’s report is emailed to the client on the 1st of every month, from your workspace’s name. The report arrives before the client thinks to ask.
Reports and SLA
For your own team, the reports page shows uptime, downtime and incidents per monitor for any period, against an SLA target such as 99.9 percent. Monitors below the target are marked red, and you can download the numbers as CSV. Weekly and monthly email reports summarise uptime and incidents for the team on every plan. Our guide to SLA, SLO and SLI explains how to set a target you can keep.
A typical month
An agency looks after 40 client sites in one workspace, one project per client. On the 1st, each client gets last month’s report by email. Northwind’s September shows 99.97 percent uptime, two incidents and its 99.9 percent SLA met. Northwind’s marketing manager also has a client dashboard and opens it whenever a customer says the site felt slow. The agency spends no time on reporting at all.
Pair it with a status page per client
A client report looks back. A status page shows what is happening now, to the client’s own customers. Give each client both, connected to the same monitors. See Uptimecheck for agencies and our guide to uptime monitoring for web agencies.
Client reports by link and email are included on every plan, and client dashboards on Professional and Business. Open the reports in the live demo to see what a client would get.
Plans start at €9 per month billed yearly or €12 billed monthly, excl. VAT. See the pricing page, or start a 14-day free trial of Professional, client dashboards included, without a card.
