Minecraft not working? Common problems and fixes

Check sessionserver.mojang.com from our serverGuides
“Failed to login: Invalid session” or “Authentication servers are down”
Restart the launcher, then sign out and in again. If many players get it at the same time, Mojang’s session servers, which we check here, have problems.
Can’t join a multiplayer server
Servers are run by their owners, not Mojang. Check the address and whether that server is online; our check covers Mojang’s login, not each server.
The launcher won’t open or update
Reinstall the Minecraft Launcher and check that your Microsoft account works at account.microsoft.com.
