How to embed a status widget, badge or feed

Updated October 23, 2026 2 min read

Every published status page without a password comes with a widget, a badge, a JSON summary and an Atom feed. Open the status page in the app: on the Components tab, the Public page card has Badge and Embed, with code to copy. Below, your-page stands for the part after app.uptimecheck.com/s/.

Status widget for your website

Paste this before </body> on your site:

<script src="https://app.uptimecheck.com/s/your-page/widget.js" async></script>
  • While everything works, it shows nothing.
  • When a component is down or slow, a small card says so, such as Partial outage, with a link to the status page.
  • While a status update is open, the card shows its title and latest message. During maintenance, it shows the maintenance title and that it is in progress.
  • Red for outages, amber for slowness, blue for maintenance. It follows the visitor’s light or dark setting and speaks the status page’s language.
  • Visitors can close it, and it stays closed for the rest of their visit unless something new happens.
  • It reads the status when the page loads. While your workspace’s monitoring is paused, it stays hidden.

It sits bottom left; add data-position="bottom-right" to the script tag to move it. It draws in its own shadow DOM, so your site’s CSS doesn’t change it, and it doesn’t change your site.

Badge

For a README or a website, as Markdown or HTML:

[![Status](https://app.uptimecheck.com/s/your-page/badge.svg)](https://app.uptimecheck.com/s/your-page)

<a href="https://app.uptimecheck.com/s/your-page"><img src="https://app.uptimecheck.com/s/your-page/badge.svg" alt="Status" height="20"></a>
  • It says operational, degraded, partial outage, major outage or maintenance, and paused while monitoring is paused.
  • Add ?metric=uptime for the average 90-day uptime of the page’s components, and ?label=Your%20text to change the left side.
  • It updates within a minute.

JSON summary

https://app.uptimecheck.com/s/your-page/summary.json has the overall status, the components, open status updates and maintenance, in the same format as Atlassian Statuspage’s summary. It is also at /s/your-page/api/v2/summary.json, Statuspage’s own path, so chat bots, dashboards and monitoring tools that read Statuspage can read it, from any website. status.indicator is none, minor, major, critical or maintenance. Each component’s status is operational, degraded_performance, partial_outage, major_outage or under_maintenance, and each open incident’s impact is minor, major or critical from the worst affected component (none for a notice that names nothing wrong). Both take the worse of the impact you gave in a status update and what the checks find.

Atom feed

https://app.uptimecheck.com/s/your-page/feed.atom has the status updates you post and planned maintenance, in the page’s language, for feed readers and Slack’s RSS app. The status page links to it. Checks alone don’t add entries: post an update to tell feed readers about an incident.

Changing the page’s address breaks the old links, widgets, badges and feeds included. See how to customize a status page and status pages.
