How to import monitors from UptimeRobot and others

Updated October 20, 2026 1 min read

You can bring your monitors over from UptimeRobot, Better Stack, Pingdom and StatusCake, or paste a list of URLs. You see every monitor before anything is created, and nothing changes at the other service, so you can run both side by side until you are happy.

Import from another service

  1. Open Monitors in the sidebar and choose Import.
  2. Choose From another service and pick the service.
  3. Paste an API key from that service and choose Load monitors. The key is used once and never stored.
  4. Untick anything you don’t want. Monitors that can’t be imported are listed with the reason.
  5. Under Settings for all of them, choose a Project and the Alert channels.
  6. Choose the Import button, which shows how many monitors you picked.

Where to find the API key

  • UptimeRobot: Integrations & API, then API. A read-only key is enough.
  • Better Stack: API tokens, then Uptime API tokens (a team token).
  • Pingdom: Integrations, The Pingdom API, Add API token, with Read access.
  • StatusCake: My Account, then Manage API Keys.

What comes along

  • Addresses, check intervals (rounded to ours), keywords, ports, headers, request bodies, expected status codes, timeouts and paused state.
  • What can’t come along is listed with the reason: checks we don’t do, such as UDP and scripted browser tests, and private addresses.
  • Cron jobs and heartbeats get a new ping URL. Copy it from the cron job’s page under Monitors into the job, then remove the job at the old service.

Paste a list instead

Choose Paste URLs and enter one site per line: a URL, or a name and a URL separated by a comma. Lines starting with # are skipped. The same settings for interval, project and alert channels apply to all of them.

Your plan’s limits apply, and the import page says how much room is left. Comparing services? See the UptimeRobot, Better Stack, Pingdom and StatusCake alternatives.
