Server monitoring works from the inside: a small script on your server sends CPU, memory, disk and uptime data to Uptimecheck at the interval you choose.
Create the server monitor
- Open Server monitors and choose Create server monitor.
- Give it a name and an identifier.
- Choose how often data is sent: every 1, 5, 10, 15 or 30 minutes.
- Under Advanced settings, choose Add new alert to set the thresholds you want alerts for, and tick the notification handlers.
- Choose Create.
Install the code
Open the server monitor and choose Install code. Copy the command for your system and run it:
- Linux: in the terminal. The server language must be set to English.
- macOS: in the terminal, on Big Sur or later, with the language set to English.
- Windows: in PowerShell with admin permissions, on Windows 10 or 11. Only the C drive is tracked.
The monitor says it is waiting for the first data until the script reports in. If you later change the interval, run the install code again. To remove the script, use Uninstall code on the same page.
