How to get push notifications on your phone

Updated October 16, 2026

Push notifications put alerts on your phone’s lock screen and on your computer, free and instant, on every plan. There is no app to install from a store: Uptimecheck works in the browser on your phone and can be added to the home screen.

Turn on push on each device

  • iPhone and iPad: open app.uptimecheck.com, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. Open Uptimecheck from the home screen, go to Account and choose Turn on under Push notifications.
  • Android and computers: open Account in the browser and choose Turn on under Push notifications. Allow notifications when the browser asks.

Choose Send a test to check that it arrives. If notifications are blocked, allow them in the browser’s site settings and reload the page.

Add a push channel

  1. Open Alert channels in the sidebar and choose Add channel.
  2. Pick Push.
  3. Under Who gets them, choose These people and tick them, or Whoever is on call and pick an on-call schedule.
  4. Choose Add channel.

Each person turns push on for their own devices. The list in the dialog shows how many devices each person has.

Good to know

  • When the monitor recovers, the recovery replaces the outage notification, so your lock screen stays tidy.
  • To reach one person at a time, set up an on-call schedule.
