How to connect Slack alerts

Updated October 26, 2026 1 min read

Slack alerts are available on every plan. Outages, recoveries, slow responses and expiry reminders go to the channel you pick. Outage alerts get an Acknowledge button, so the team sees who is on it.

Connect with Add to Slack

  1. Open Alert channels in the sidebar and choose Add channel.
  2. Pick Slack.
  3. Choose Add to Slack, sign in to Slack if asked, and pick the channel.
  4. Back in Uptimecheck, the channel is in the list. Choose Send test to see how an alert looks.

A channel added this way is a default channel, so new monitors get it. With Send alerts for all existing monitors too ticked, as it is unless you untick it, it is added to every monitor you already have.

Acknowledge from Slack

When someone presses Acknowledge on an outage alert, the message shows who acknowledged it and when. The incident is acknowledged in Uptimecheck too, and delayed alerts that haven’t gone out yet are canceled. See escalation and acknowledging incidents.

Or use an incoming webhook

  1. In Slack, go to Apps, Incoming Webhooks, Add to Slack, pick a channel and copy the URL.
  2. In Uptimecheck, choose Add channel, pick Slack, choose Paste an incoming webhook instead and paste it into Slack webhook URL.
  3. Choose Add channel.

Webhook alerts have no Acknowledge button.

Tips

  • Use a dedicated channel, such as #ops-alerts, so incidents are not lost in conversation.
  • Combine Slack with push notifications for the monitors that matter most at night.
