Uptime alerts in Google Chat

Outage and recovery alerts as messages in a Google Chat space, through the space’s own webhook.

14-day free trial · No credit card required

What you get

  • Short, readable messages

The headline in bold, the address, what happened and an Open in Uptimecheck link.

  • No accidental @all

Text from a failing server can’t mention everyone in the space or dress up a link as something else.

  • Only confirmed outages

A failed check is repeated before an incident opens, so a single blip never sends an alert.

  • Recovery with the downtime

When checks pass again, a recovery follows in the same place with how long the monitor was down.

How to connect Google Chat

  1. In Google Chat, open the space, then Apps & integrations › Webhooks › Add webhook, and copy the URL.

  2. Open Alert channels in the sidebar and choose Add channel.

  3. Pick Google Chat and paste the URL into Google Chat webhook URL.

  4. Choose Add channel, then Send test.

Included on every plan, from Start to Business.

  • DNS record changes and server restarts

Questions

Where do I find the Google Chat webhook URL?

In the space, open Apps & integrations, then Webhooks, add a webhook and copy its URL. It starts with https://chat.googleapis.com/v1/spaces/.

Can I acknowledge an incident from Google Chat?

No. The link in an outage alert opens the incident in Uptimecheck, where you acknowledge it with one click.

What if an alert can’t be delivered?

Uptimecheck retries a failed alert five times over about 40 minutes, and stops at once when the service says the address is gone for good. The channel then shows Not delivering with the reason, on the alert channels page and on the monitors that use it. A passing Send test clears it.

Is it included on every plan?

Yes. Every alert channel is on every plan, from Start to Business; SMS uses credits (included on Professional and Business, bought packs on Start). Plans differ in how many alert channels you can add: 25 on Start, 75 on Professional and 250 on Business.

Downtime is obsolete.

Set up your first monitor in under a minute, or look around the live demo first.
