Uptime alerts in Pushover

Alerts to Pushover on your phone, tablet or desktop. Outages are high priority, so they break through quiet hours.

What you get

  • Through quiet hours

Outages are sent as high priority; recoveries and warnings as normal.

  • The time it happened

Each notification carries the time of the event, so a retried alert still shows when the outage started.

  • Tap to open

An Open in Uptimecheck link goes straight to the incident.

  • Only confirmed outages

A failed check is repeated before an incident opens, so a single blip never sends an alert.

How to connect Pushover

  4. Choose Add channel, then Send test.

Questions

Why do I need an API token as well as my user key?

Pushover delivers messages on behalf of an application. Create one at pushover.net/apps/build, name it Uptimecheck, and paste its 30-character API token together with your 30-character user key.

Do outages break through quiet hours?

Yes. Outage alerts are sent as high priority, which Pushover delivers during quiet hours. Recoveries and warnings use normal priority.

What if an alert can’t be delivered?

Uptimecheck retries a failed alert five times over about 40 minutes, and stops at once when the service says the address is gone for good. The channel then shows Not delivering with the reason, on the alert channels page and on the monitors that use it. A passing Send test clears it.

Is it included on every plan?

Yes. Every alert channel is on every plan, from Start to Business; SMS uses credits (included on Professional and Business, bought packs on Start). Plans differ in how many alert channels you can add: 25 on Start, 75 on Professional and 250 on Business.
