14-day free trial · No credit card required

What you get

  • Down and recovery only

Texts carry what needs a phone: outages and recoveries. Slow responses and reminders go to your other channels.

  • One short text

Each alert fits in one SMS: the monitor, the cause, where it was confirmed and since when.

  • SMS as escalation

Set When to alert to wait 5 to 60 minutes, and the text only goes out if the outage lasts and nobody has acknowledged it.

  • Confirmed numbers

Each number is confirmed with a 6-digit code before it gets alerts.

How to connect SMS

  1. Open Alert channels in the sidebar and choose Add channel.

  2. Pick SMS and enter the Mobile number in international format, such as +46 70 123 45 67.

  3. Choose Add channel. We text a 6-digit code to the number; enter it under Confirm the number within 10 minutes.

  4. Choose Send test if you want to see the text. A test uses one credit too.

Until the number is confirmed, the channel is paused. Confirm number in the list sends a new code.

On every plan: Professional includes 50 credits a month and Business 200, and Start uses bought credits. One credit is one text. Packs: 100 for €12 or 500 for €55, excl. VAT, and bought credits never expire. At most 100 texts per workspace in 24 hours.

What arrives

  • Outages, once a second check confirms them
  • Recoveries, with how long the monitor was down
  • A test text when you choose Send test

Questions

Which countries can get SMS alerts?

Mobile numbers in the EU/EEA, the UK and Switzerland.

How many credits does an outage use?

Two per number: one text when the monitor goes down and one when it recovers. A delayed text that never goes out, because the monitor recovered or someone acknowledged the incident first, uses none.

Which plans include SMS?

All of them. Professional includes 50 credits a month and Business 200, and Start uses bought credits. Packs of 100 for €12 or 500 for €55, excluding VAT, on any plan, and bought credits never expire. A workspace sends at most 100 texts in 24 hours, so a flapping monitor can’t empty your credits.

What happens when the credits run out?

The text isn’t sent, the incident’s timeline says so, and the workspace owners get an email. Your other alert channels still alert as usual.

Do you call as well?

No. Uptimecheck sends texts, not phone calls. For alerts that must wake someone, combine SMS with push notifications or PagerDuty.

Downtime is obsolete.

Set up your first monitor in under a minute, or look around the live demo first.
