What you get

  • Status in one question

“Is everything up?” gets the monitors that are up, down, slow or paused, and the open incidents with their cause.

  • Act, with permission

With a read & write key the assistant can create, pause and resume monitors, acknowledge incidents, schedule maintenance and post status updates. A read-only key only lets it look.

  • Try before you monitor

The assistant can request a URL once from our server in Stockholm, with response checks, before it adds a monitor.

  • Revoke any time

Revoke the key under Settings › API, and the assistant loses access right away.

How to connect MCP server

  1. Create an API key under Settings › API: Read only to let the assistant look, Read & write to let it act.

  2. On the same tab, under Connect an AI assistant (MCP), pick Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor or VS Code and copy the setup.

  3. Replace uc_your_api_key with your key. The server address is https://app.uptimecheck.com/api/mcp.

Every tool is listed in the API reference.

On Professional and Business, with an API key from Settings › API.

Is everything up?

uptimecheck · get_status_summary

22 of 23 monitors are up. Checkout is down with HTTP 502 since 03:12 UTC, and its incident is open and not yet acknowledged.

Acknowledge it, I’m on it.

uptimecheck · acknowledge_incident

An example conversation in Claude Code. The assistant’s words are its own; the data comes from your workspace.

Questions

Which AI assistants can connect?

Any MCP client that can reach a server over HTTP with an Authorization header. The app has ready-made setup for Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor and VS Code.

Which plans include the MCP server?

Professional and Business, together with the REST API. Both use the same API keys and rate limits.

Can the assistant change things in my workspace?

Only with a read & write key. Then it can create, pause and resume monitors, acknowledge incidents, start or change maintenance and post status updates. With a read-only key it can only read.

What is the server address?

https://app.uptimecheck.com/api/mcp, with your API key as a Bearer token in the Authorization header.

Downtime is obsolete.

Set up your first monitor in under a minute, or look around the live demo first.
