How to change or set your password

Updated October 23, 2026 1 min read

You can sign in to Uptimecheck with a password, with a sign-in link by email, or with Google or GitHub. The Password section under Account appears once your account has a password.

Change your password

  1. Open the menu with your name at the bottom of the sidebar and choose Account.
  2. Under Password, enter your Current password and a New password of at least 10 characters.
  3. Choose Change password.

Every other device where you are signed in is signed out. The device you are using stays signed in.

Forgot it, or never had one?

If you signed up with Google or GitHub or always use an email link, your account has no password yet. You set one the same way as you reset a forgotten one:

  1. On the sign-in page, choose Forgot password?.
  2. Enter your email address and choose Send reset link.
  3. Open the email and choose a new password. The link is valid for one hour.

After a reset you sign in again on every device. Google and email links keep working as before.
