You change plan or billing interval in the Stripe customer portal: open Settings › Billing and choose Manage billing, or Change in billing portal on the plan you want. Only the workspace owner can. The portal shows what is due today before you confirm.
Upgrades: charged at once
Moving to a larger plan, or from monthly to yearly billing, applies right away, so the new limits are there at once. You are charged immediately for the new plan over the rest of the current period, minus the unused part of what you already paid. Your billing date doesn’t change.
Example: halfway through a month on Start (€12 a month), you move to Professional (€39 a month). You pay about €19.50 for the rest of the month on Professional, minus about €6 unused on Start, so about €13.50 plus VAT today. From the next billing date you pay €39 a month.
Downgrades: at the end of the period
Moving to a smaller plan, or from yearly to monthly billing, is scheduled for the end of the period you have paid for. Nothing is charged or refunded, and you keep the current plan and its limits until then. The portal shows the scheduled change.
If you use more than the smaller plan includes when it starts, nothing is removed, but you can’t add more until you are within its limits. Features it doesn’t include, such as the REST API on Start, stop working.
During a trial
If you chose a plan during the free trial and the trial carried over, a change in the portal keeps the trial. Nothing is charged until it ends, and then the plan you picked last is charged.
Good to know
- All prices are in euros and exclude VAT. VAT or sales tax for your country is added to every charge.
- Canceling stops the next renewal. The plan runs to the end of the paid period; see how to change or cancel your plan.
- Receipts and invoices for every charge come from Link, which sells Uptimecheck for us. See who charges you.
