SMS alerts work on every paid plan; the Free plan has no SMS. Each text uses one SMS credit. Credits come from two places: the ones your plan includes each month, and packs you buy.
Credits included in your plan
- Start: no monthly credits. SMS alerts use bought credits only.
- Professional: 50 credits a month.
- Business: 200 credits a month.
Monthly credits renew on the 1st of each month (UTC). Unused monthly credits don’t carry over to the next month. During the free trial, the workspace has Professional’s 50 credits.
Buy a credit pack
- Open Settings in the sidebar and choose the Billing tab. Only the workspace owner can buy credits.
- Under SMS credits, choose 100 credits for €12 or 500 credits for €55. Prices exclude VAT, which is added at checkout.
- Pay on the Stripe checkout page. The credits are added as soon as the payment is confirmed, usually within a minute.
Packs can be bought on any paid plan, Start included, and during the trial, but not on the Free plan. A workspace needs a plan or a running trial to buy or use credits; bought credits are kept while it has none, and work again once it does.
How credits are used
- One text is one credit. A typical outage uses two per number: one when the monitor goes down and one when it recovers.
- SMS channels only get outages and recoveries, not slow responses or expiry reminders, so credits go to what matters.
- Send test on an SMS channel uses one credit too.
- Monthly credits are used first. Bought credits are used after them and never expire.
- The SMS credits card on the Billing tab shows Left in total, This month and Bought.
Limits
- A workspace sends at most 100 texts in any 24 hours, alerts and tests together. A text over the limit isn’t sent and uses no credit. See why an SMS alert wasn’t sent.
- We text mobile numbers in the EU/EEA, the UK and Switzerland.
- A refunded pack takes its credits back.
